Choosing the Boundary

Select a scene to review the state through its events. Earlier books still contribute recorded history; choosing a book does not reset the characters' knowledge or possessions.

Understanding the Fields

Control What it does
Book Narrows the chapter choices to that book.
Chapter Narrows the scene choices to that chapter.
Scene Sets the last scene included in the snapshot.

Changing a selection normally refreshes the snapshot automatically. Check the displayed scene heading after switching books or chapters, since a different scene may now be selected. If a selection has no scenes, there is no snapshot to show.

Show state Loads or retries the selected snapshot.

For the state immediately before a reveal, choose the preceding scene in reading order. Selecting the reveal itself includes its recorded consequences. The story date is useful context, but it is not the history boundary.
