Choosing a Tendency

Gender prior describes the female and male usage weights in the selected name profile. It is guidance for browsing names, not a statement about the sex or gender of a person who has that name.

Mostly uses a minimum weight of 0.5, Strongly 0.7, and Very strongly 0.9. Balanced / mixed requires at least 0.35 on each side. Any removes this filter and can include names without a profile.

The short label in a result uses its own broad categories: strong female prior, strong male prior, mixed prior or No profile. It need not repeat the exact filter wording you chose.

For a name intended to feel less strongly associated with either category, try Balanced / mixed and inspect the locale and era as well.
