Writing problems
Your fictional timeline has to fit around real dates
Your invented sequence has to work around a documented event, festival, journey or deadline whose date cannot simply move with the draft.
How PlotDirector can help

Timeline
Record the fixed date alongside the surrounding fictional scenes.
Compare scene order with the dates, times and locations recorded for each scene. Select scenes to inspect the details behind the sequence.
Look for The anchor, time available before and after it and any movable event carrying an impossible interval.

Why this happens
Fixed anchors reduce the freedom elsewhere in the schedule. Research notes may also mix confirmed dates with provisional assumptions, making every entry seem equally immovable.
If an external date is provisional, label it as such before rebuilding the whole fictional schedule around it. Source confidence and creative flexibility belong in the same working view.
What to look for
- Mark which anchors are genuinely fixed
- Trace the intervals required between them
- Keep sources and uncertainty beside researched dates
